Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 124 dated November 26, 2001 entitled Declaring the 3 Week of November of Every Year as Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week, and DepEd Memorandum no. 128, s. 2019 entitled 2019 Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week, this office enjoins all public and private elementary and secondary schools to organize educational and social activities to celebrate the occasion with the theme, Kalarungan para sa Kalusugan, Kalusugan para sa Katarungan, from November 17 to 23, 2019.
The 2019 Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week aims to make people aware of the dangers posed by drug abuse, and to further strengthen their resolve to do their share in the fight against this menace. Activities should not disrupt classes as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measure to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith. Schools may opt to put up bulletin boards, to conduct simple announcement during flag ceremony, and to integrate poster making, essay writing, song writing, etc. in related learning areas.
In addition, schools shall submit a narrative report of their activities and shall be submitted to hnu@depeddasma.edu.ph not later than November 29, 2019.
