Pursuant to Regional Memorandum No. 47, s. 2023 regarding the Call for Research Proposals for the Eight Cycle of Basic Education Research Fund (BERF), Policy, Planning, and Research Division (PPRD) calls for the eight cycle BERF research proposals to promote research culture and improve support mechanisms for research.
In this regard, interested teaching, non-teaching, and teaching-related personnel can submit their research proposal and other pertinent documents through Ms. Karen Lynn G. Macawile, Senior Education Program Specialist for Planning and Research at karen.macawile@deped.gov.ph until March 27, 2023. Please use this format to label your folder/files: Last Name, First Name-School. Example: Baustista, Anna_DIHS.
The PPRD highlights in a Corrigendum through RM No. 112, s. 2023 that all research proposals shall conform to the priorities of the region with regard to the Learning Recovery Plan (LRP) and Regional Education Development Plan (REDP) specifically on building foundations and responding to immediate challenges. See specific priority areas on the enclosure.
Further, It is advised that all research proposals are aligned with the new DepEd Agenda-MATATAG which has four critical components: 1) Make the curriculum relevant to produce job-ready, active, and responsible citizens; 2) Take steps to accelerate delivery of basic education facilities and services; 3) Take good care of learners by promoting learner well-being, inclusive education, and positive learning environment; and 4) Give support to teachers to teach better.
Enclosed to this Memorandum are the Regional Memorandums which include the general guidelines relative to the 8th Cycle BERF Call for Research Proposals.
