Relative to the decision to place the province of Cavite under Level 3 status from January 5- 15, 2022, there will be some changes with the Memorandum on 2022 DSPC posted last January 05, 2022.
a. On the Selection
Considering various restrictions and limitations, the term ‘contest’ will be replaced with the term ‘selection’. This is just to have a pool of student-journalists who will be trained for the Regional Schools Press Conference this year. The schools shall decide on the categories they want to participate in and the number of participants per category. School Paper Advisers shall consider the capacity of the target participants to join in the virtual activities (elimination, training, and RSPC), the journalistic skills of the participants based on the recommendation of colleagues, learners’ outputs, and/or school virtual press conference, the willingness of learners and the approval of parents to join.
b. On the Registration
The same registration link will be used (https://bit.ly/DSPC2022). However, schools are advised to register their participants until January 10, 2022 (5 PM only) to determine if which categories need to have virtual selection. For the categories with no registered participants, the Division Training Team would identify schools that can send participants for the training.
