Security Bank Foundation, Inc. in partnership with Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc, (KCFI) and Ateneo De Manila produced twenty (20) educational videos focusing on the four (4) most essential learning competencies (MELCs) in English Reading as their contribution in helping education stakeholders cope with the new normal. The videos focus on the following MELCs (five 15-minute videos per MELC):
• Grade 1- Predict possible ending of the story
• Grade 3- Make inferences and draw conclusions based on the texts
• Grade 3- Interpret simple graphs, tables and pictographs
• Grade 5- Infer the meaning of unfamiliar words
These videos will be launched on a staggered delivery from January to May 2021. They will be made available for free to everyone through the following mediums:
• Television- Knowledge Channel in Cable Providers and A2Z Free TV Channel
• Online- Security Bank, Knowledge Channel, and Ateneo Websites, Facebook Pages and Youtube Channels
• Offline- Portable Media Libraries of Schools with Knowledge Channel TVs
In view, the field is hereby instructed to use the videos in instructional delivery both in the new normal and post-pandemic whenever and wherever applicable and disseminate the airing schedule (see attached), Moreover, Elementary English teachers, principals, concerned division officers, other stakeholders are encouraged to participate in the free trainings on the integration of these videos in both distance and face-face mode of learning deliveries and on educational technology as a tool for pedagogy. interested participants are requested to register through this online form: bit.ly/SBFIEducationWebinars2O21 until January 11,2021.
