In line with DepEd Order No. 002, s. 2019 dated January 14, 2019, the field is hereby informed that all interagency requests for data that may involve sharing of sensitive personal information in the custody of DepEd officials and employees – whether they may be of teaching and nonteaching personnel, or learners— should be referred to the Office of the Secretary, Attention: Data Protection Officer, for evaluation of applicability of pertinent laws and regulations, including the Republic Act No. 10173 entitled the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
Enclosed is the copy of DepEd Order No. 002, s. 2019 with attached copy of Section 3(1) of RA 10173 referring to what is included in the term, “sensitive personal information”.
The concerned DepEd official and employee may coordinate with the Office of the Schools Division Superintendent for proper indorsement/referral to the Office of the Secretary.
