This Division continuously aims to improve early grade literacy by enhancing teachers’ competence as part of 2022 Division Reading Recovery Program which is indicated in the Division Education Development Plan (DEDP).

Anent to this, a virtual training titled Training on Strategies on Language Learning and Transition: Improving Early Grade Literacy in School and at Home will be conducted in two phases:
First Phase: August 15-19, 2022 – for the training of trainers at Congressional Integrated High School
  Second Phase: Roll-Out- Date to be announced in a separate memorandum
This program/course aims to:
a. Capacitate Key Stage 1 teachers on different strategies on language learning and transition;
b. Improve the designed early grade literacy in school to meet the needs of the learners and to provide support to the reading coaches at home

Teaching personnel involved shall be entitled to 5-day service credits as per DO 53 s. 2003, Updated Guidelines on Grant of Vacation Service Credits to Teachers.
