Relative to OUA Memo 00-0522-0161 titled World No Tobacco Day and National No Smoking Month Webinar and Campaign with Philippine Pediatric Society, the field is hereby invited to participate in a webinar and campaign for the celebration of World No Tobacco Day on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, and the National No Smoking Month in June.
The webinar titled Protect our Children’s Health and Environment through Tobacco and Nicotine Control will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at 9:00 to 10:00 AM thru the Facebook page of the Philippine Medical Association, and will be shared by the official Facebook pages of DepEd Philippines and OK sa DepEd. Limited slots are also available in the Zoom teleconference platform.
On the other hand, for the entire month of June, learners are invited to post on Facebook a video of themselves asking questions or sharing their ideas related to tobacco and vape use with the permission of their parents or guardians. Sample questions that the learners could use in their videos are attached in this memorandum. The hashtags #NNSM2022, #NoTobacco, #TobaccoExposed, and #SmokeFreePhilippines shall be used and the Facebook pages of the Philippine Pedia Society (PPS) and OK sa DepEd shall be mentioned or tagged.
Health professionals from PPS and DepEd will respond to the selected videos throughout the month, while some videos will be featured on the Facebook pages of PPS and OK sa DepEd. Selected learners will receive token from PPS and DepEd.
