1. Pursuant to the Republic Act. No. 7079, otherwise known as the “Campus
Journalism Act of 1991” and to the Division’s goal of enhancing the journalistic
skills of the learners even amid educative transition, all schools (private and
public) are encouraged to conduct a simple yet meaningful school-based press
conference starting this month of September until the second week of October.
This is to give ample time to both School Paper Advisers (SPA) and Campus
Journalists prepare for the forthcoming Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) tentatively slated on the month of November.
2. All schools shall be guided by the rationale and objectives of the conduct of the
press conference:
a. promotes the development and growth of campus journalism as a means of
strengthening values, encouraging critical and creative thinking, and developing moral character and personal discipline of the Filipino youth;
b. improves journalistic skills of the learners concerned; and
c. promotes responsible and free journalism.
3. The conference shall have the following contests:

a.4. Sports Writing
a.5. Copyreading and Headline Writing
a.6. Science and Technology Writing
a.7. Photojournalism
a.8. Editorial Cartooning
